        THE FESTIVAL IS ON

Easter weekend 6th-9th April 2012
It is the intention of the Festival to support local artists for the 2012 Festival. As is well known the devastating earthquakes have impacted heavily on the local music scene and the Festival wishes to offer the opportunity and support to local Folk Musicians.

There will be the same high standard of performance and workshops as Canterbury is blessed with a wealth of talented musicians.

Everyone is welcome to be a part of this unique, friendly festival experience just 40 minutesnorth of Christchurch in the picturesque and historic Waipara Valley, amongst North Canterbury's famous vineyards.

An unashamedly great weekend consisting of:

concerts
workshops barn and contra dance jam sessions festival Choir childrens programme

'GYPSIES, TRAMPS and THIEVES'

Every year at your Canterbury Festival the lads from the band not called Shiner host a gathering that follows a theme. a chance to dress up and have some fun. It’s held over the evening meal break on Saturday night before the Barn and Contra dance.
Everyone is invited to join in,  they camp at the bottom of the road leading up to the main hall.

Hoorah.
