Volunteer at the 2026 CFF

As a not-for-profit community organisation, we are entirely volunteer run and led. Our committee works hard throughout the year to organise the festival, but we also need volunteers during the weekend to complete a number of important jobs!

​​​Volunteer Commitment and Deposit

Volunteers are paid in kind with free entry to enjoy the weekend or day that they are there to help. However, we do ask for a refundable volunteer deposit of $60 full weekend or $30 for day volunteer. 

 

Why a Deposit? 

This deposit helps us coordinate volunteer schedules effectively and demonstrates your commitment to the festival's success.

Please note: If you volunteer for one day only and wish to stay on at the festival you will be required to purchase additional day passes via our booking system.

​

Your deposit will be fully refunded at the end of the festival and upon completion of your agreed volunteer shifts. 

Last minute volunteer cancellation and subsequent refund of your deposit will be subject to the CFF Committee.

Volunteer Orientation

All volunteers are required to attend our Volunteer Orientation Meeting on Thursday 2nd of April at 7pm at Stedfast Lounge, Waipara Adventure Centre.

​

This meeting is an opportunity to:

  • meet the festival organisers and other volunteers

  • learn about your assigned role and responsibilities.

  • receive training to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

  • ask any questions you may have.

 

If you are unable to attend the orientation meeting but still keen to volunteer, please contact us as soon as possible via email at info@canterburyfolkfestival.org.nz.

Volunteer Shifts

Volunteer shifts are scheduled from Thursday afternoon/evening through to Monday morning, depending on the assigned role.

Returning Volunteers

We appreciate our returning volunteers. If you would like to support the festival by purchasing a full weekend pass and still offering some volunteer assistance, please also complete the form at the link below.
